Kevin L. Neal, MS OD/SHR, Director of Business Development

Kevin has more than 25 years of experience in Strategic Human Resources Development. This experience includes; Diversity, Employee Relations, Organizational Development consulting. In 1995, Kevin joined a management consulting firm specializing in improving Organizational Performance. Eventually promoted to Executive Vice President, he managed the day-to-day operations and business development for the company, which provided Strategic Human Resources solutions including Organizational Development, Employee Relations, Change Management, Leadership Development, Training and Diversity and Inclusion initiatives. Kevin’s has a strong passion for helping organizations, through Change Management, Organizational Development, and Diversity and Inclusion initiatives.

Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration from College of Santa Fe and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Development and Strategic Human Resources from John Hopkins University, and drawing upon his real-world experience running an Organizational Performance consultancy, Kevin brings a keen understanding of business function and the applied knowledge that can only be gained through daily application. He has a keen ability to quickly understand the current business situations of clients, learn their organizational goals and objectives and present total business solutions that have immediate application and provide long-term results.

Kevin has also earned a certificate of Fellows of Change Management from Johns Hopkins University. In addition, Kevin is a Founding Board of Directors Member for, and Lifetime Member of the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources and the Black Human Resources Network.

Teresa Whiteacre, Manager of Business Operations

As Director of Business Operations, Teresa applies a business-minded approach to maximizing client relationships for mutual benefit. Her interpersonal skills resonate with leadership and the public, and she excels in establishing and streamlining operations. Her analytical thinking, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills contribute to our firm’s operational efficiency.

Her responsibilities include staff scheduling, maintaining the project plans and client activity tracking, client and consultant invoicing, setting up assessments, data analysis and spreadsheets, and maintaining various platforms, applications, and managing communication channels to ensure efficiency in delivering on services.

She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing from the University of South Florida and has Level II background clearance with the State of Florida.

Antoinette "Toni" Freeman, Senior Consultant

Toni is a human resources strategist bringing over 20 years of expertise in training and development, executive coaching, recruitment and retention, employee relations and workforce diversity and inclusion. As a fortune 500 executive, Antoinette developed and executed corporate wide training and development initiatives focusing on leadership development, employee engagement, diversity and inclusion. She earned her Certificate in Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University which further solidified her experience as a coach and mentor. She is a dynamic, engaging and thought-provoking speaker who challenges and coaches leaders to become their very best in order to achieve success for themselves and their organizations.

Antoinette started her career as a retail merchandiser with New England based Jordan Marsh Department Stores, currently known as Macy’s. She moved up rapidly through the organization to become a Human Resources Director with responsibility for 5 stores in the Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island areas.

Antoinette was recruited by the former Circuit City Stores, Inc., a Richmond based Fortune 500 home electronics and appliance company, to manage the company’s management training program. This intensive 5-day program was re-designed and enhanced by her team of 5 professional trainers who were tasked with educating field managers on fundamental HR policy and procedure regarding employee relations issues (e.., how to handle performance management issues, recruitment and retention, situational leadership, sexual harassment, and managing a diverse workforce). After successfully launching this program, Antoinette was promoted to manage a team of 5 recruitment managers responsible for a staff of 18 recruiters. At the height of Circuit City’s massive growth plan, her teams were assigned to recruit for field management and corporate hourly to senior level positions within the company.

Antoinette was then promoted to Director of Executive Development, a newly created role within the organization, assigned with the task of management and leadership training, assessment and development. This undertaking resulted in her team creating and developing leadership training programs, building an assessment center, creating development plans for high- potential leaders, providing leadership coaching for individuals and teams and assisting with the development of a bench and succession plan for the organization.

She received certifications in assessment, testing and development tools through PDI Ninth House, a company acquired by Korn Ferry. Antoinette added to her experience by joining Markel Corporation, a specialty insurance company, as their Professional Development Director. In this newly created role, she was able to initiate corporate-wide training and development programs. She developed and integrated a competency model in core skills training classes for the management team.

Sergeant II Bernard C. Fitchpatrick, MPA (Retired), Senior Consultant

For over 30 years, Sergeant Bernard C. Fitchpatrick, (ret.), was responsible for ensuring calls for police services were handled effectively and efficiently within the realm of constitutional policing, while ensuring order was maintained and the needs of the diverse community were met. Bernard was responsible for ensuring the requirements of the LAPD/DOJ Consent Decree were followed, and all policies, procedures, and regulations were strictly adhered to at all levels of the Division he was responsible for. With a strong background in administrative procedures, community policing, conflict resolution, mediation, training, and adult learning, he is able to correlate real world law enforcement experiences into an academic, managerial, and social environment.

Chosen as one of a few instructors to provide D.A.R.E. training to local and state law enforcement agencies nation-wide, and the United States Military internationally, Bernard has worked closely with the community, school districts, and the youth to share his knowledge and experience. In a collegiate setting as an on-ground instructor with the University of Phoenix in Southern California in their Security and Criminal Justice Program, he continued to provide current and future law enforcement professionals with his keen insights. One of his core courses was is Conflict Resolution and mediation. He was also a former adjunct instructor for ITT Technical Institute. In his capacity at ITT, he was the primary instructor for their Diversity in Law Enforcement curriculum. Bernard pioneered this course by developing strong instructional outlines that incorporated significant research into historical events that have had a profound effect on law enforcement interaction with our diverse landscape. He taught how the criminal justice system addresses these ever-present issues internally and as they related to the general public collectively. He continued to teach diversity within the criminal justice and security courses at the University of Phoenix as well. He is an expert facilitator and trainer.

Bernard obtained his Masters in Public Administration from the University of Southern California, and his B.S. from the California State University at Long Beach. As an avid runner, he competed on behalf of the LAPD in various sporting events. Bernard is married to LaPonda J. Fitchpatrick, who is a retired Los Angeles Airport Police Department Captain. They have three daughters, one who is a firefighter with the City of Raleigh, and one granddaughter. Bernard’s father was a World War II, Pearl Harbor Survivor and lived to be 102 years old.

Cyndi Ramirez Ryan, Senior Consultant

Cyndi brings a unique background as a seasoned HR and Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion global thought leader, senior executive, and certified executive coach. Her corporate experience as a former Head of HR and Chief Diversity Officer across a variety of industries positions her to share her insight with large and small clients and craft solutions that uniquely fill their business needs.

Ms. Ramirez Ryan served in several highly visible executive roles with Baylor Scott & White Healthcare,  GEICO Direct Insurance, and Philips Medical.  She has a developed expertise in human resources delivery model solutions, aligning HR models with business needs, conducting organizational assessments, leading merger & acquisitions integrations, developing and enhancing talent strategies, identifying executive talent, and facilitating executive succession planning.  As Baylor, Scott & White's first Chief Diversity Officer, she implemented diversity and inclusion strategies designed to attract and engage diverse top talent, improve delivery of culturally competent care, reduce health care disparities and increase a partnership with the communities it serves.  In 2011, the National Diversity Council named Cyndi as one of the Most Powerful & Influential Women in Texas.

She serves as President of The Joey Ryan Foundation, an organization created in her son’s memory to provide education and resources to families in the disability community, and to inspire individuals with disabilities to live empowered, independent lives. 

She holds an MBA in Human Resource Management from the University of Dallas and a BBA from Texas Woman’s University.  She is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources and a member of several professional organizations.  Cyndi is Hogan certified in selection and executive coaching development. For 5 years, she served as an Executive Coach & Advisor to the Corporate Executive Development Program at SMU Cox School of Business and continues to be instrumental in the career progression of high-potential diverse talent through executive coaching.

 

Cyndi is a bi-lingual Latina, Spanish is her 1st language and her lens is heavily influenced by her Latinx culture and upbring.  She brings a powerful perspective–rooted in her rich heritage– to effectively engage with and for the needs of today’s diverse workforce. 

Kelly Charles Collins, Esq., Senior Consultant

Kelly believes that HR, at its best, is an interactive, collaborative process between management and employees driven by open communication, shared goals, and mutual benefit. She has guided hundreds of organizations – from small businesses to Fortune 100 companies – to discover the hidden truths about their workplace.

An employment attorney with more than 20 years of experience, she conducts workplace investigations and provides training and coaching programs to help companies reduce bias, eliminate harassment, and banish incivility. With her expert guidance, Kelly guides organizations to nurture trust and respect so they can create diverse, inclusive, and harmonious cultures that deliver results.

Captain LaPonda Fitchpatrick (Retired), Senior Consultant

Captain LaPonda Fitchpatrick (Retired) was responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the global gateway known as LAX and its satellite airports for over 30 years, retiring as a commanding officer within the Los Angeles Airport Police Department (LAXPD).  LaPonda is a nationally recognized aviation law enforcement and security expert that has developed security systems, methods and procedures, and professional standards that are utilized by a myriad of local, state, federal, and international aviation security and law enforcement agencies that secure the global aviation environment.  After 9-11, LaPonda conceived and implemented the Los Angeles Airport Police Homeland Security Section to ensure multi-agency law enforcement and public safety activities and response is properly coordinated to reduce LAX’s vulnerability to a terrorist event or catastrophic emergency.  This included the development of the nation’s largest airport law enforcement bomb detection K-9 unit, expedited multi-agency intelligence sharing, and an on-site tactical response unit tailored to the aviation environment. 

Understanding the importance of information sharing and training, she modernized and wrote the State of California mandated Aviation Security for Law Enforcement Officers training course as a consultant to the California Peace Officers’ Standards and Training Commission (POST).  She created a training curriculum that addressed the multi-cultural and dynamic venue that a global system such as aviation presents with a concentration on terrorism and its global effect on aviation security.  Post-9/11, taking this training curriculum nationwide, she has trained over 3500 police officers, TSA and other aviation security personnel, which included the entire law enforcement components for Atlanta-Hartsfield, Phoenix-Sky Harbor, and Okaloosa County Airports Police Departments.  She has been a member of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) Transportation Security, Training, and General Aviation Airports Committees, and the National Cargo Task Force that have made recommendations to local, state, and federal agencies in the development of aviation security related policies, procedures, regulations, and training.  She has been an instructor for AAAE in aviation security since 2002, and is an Airport Certified Employee (ACE). She taught the first International Airport Certified Employee (IACE) security course for AAAE in the south pacific. Fitchpatrick is also a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Intrigued by the jihadist phenomenon and its ability to influence ordinary people to participate in extraordinary and out-of-character violent acts, Fitchpatrick returned to the classroom as a student to further her education in the field of Sociology as it relates to globalization and the effect on aviation and related workplace security. She had a concentration in diversity, religion, and other issues that also affect a global society. She received her B.A. from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). Fitchpatrick obtained her instructor training certification through the Los Angeles Police Department’s Instructor Development Course approved by the California Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission and is a certified instructor in Franklin Covey’s Presentation Advantage©.

Nicole Smith, Senior Consultant

For the past 20+ years, with her background in Talent Development, focusing on Leadership Development, Nicole Smith has consulted, trained and coached many organizational leaders at every level in various industries. Her background led her to becoming a #1 best-selling author of a quick, easy read book called 20 Golden Leadership Nuggets. Nicole shares lessons learned in her 20+ years of servant, authentic leadership and crafts them in practical tips that can be applied today helping you on your leadership journey!

With her love of speaking, she has designed, hosted, and facilitated many educational events, conferences, workshops, and seminars for over 20,000 attendees. Nicole is a certified Emotional Intelligence Coach and a certified Professional Life Coach. In addition, she is a certified DISC behavior consultant, which allows her to administer, interpret, train, and coach on the DISC behavior profile assessments.

Along with receiving two Bachelor of Art degrees, one in Psychology and the other in Criminal Justice from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, she received a Master of Education from the University of Phoenix focusing on adult training and development. Nicole resides in Charlotte, NC with her husband, Marcus, of 22 years, and two sons, Jordan (20) and Justin (15). She is an excited marching band mom and an active member of the Junior League of Charlotte, NC winning service awards and serving in positions such as the Education & Training Council Manager, Vice-Chair of the Training and Development committee and Co-Chair of Diversity & Inclusion Committee.

Dr. Thomas Gordon, Senior Consultant

Dr. Tom Gordon has 35+ years of executive, enterprise, and systems consulting experience in leadership and performance paradigms, change strategy, communications and conflict resolution, health and mental health, diversity and culturally competent inclusion, teambuilding, and organizational dynamics. As a contractor for SDS Global Enterprises, Inc. he designs and delivers capacity-building, collaborative, culturally competent, customized systems effectiveness seminars, coaching, interventions, and leadership consultation. Tom advises clients in aerospace and defense, banking, biomedical and healthcare, construction, education, engineering, entrepreneurial, legal, manufacturing, military, pharmaceutical, retail consumer goods, and telecommunications domains as well as in public, religious, and governmental sectors. In addition to executive and executive team coaching, Tom has advised on large-scale change initiatives –including designing and implementing strategic diversity initiatives, synergy assessments, competency modeling, leadership seminars and retreats.

A licensed psychologist, Tom graduated cum laude from Harvard University; earned his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Michigan; and completed post-doctoral mass media and conflict resolution study at the University of Pennsylvania/Annenberg School of Communications. Dr. Gordon’s psychologist career spans 35+ years –as college professor, health and mental health systems manager, psychotherapist, and now advisor to organizations on a wide range of leadership, change, and performance challenges.  His faculty affiliations have included: The University of Michigan, Temple University, The University of Pennsylvania, Antioch College, Goddard College, Department of Psychiatry/Thomas Jefferson University, and Family Medicine/Medical University of South Carolina.

Tom serves on the Health Promotion Council’s Board of Directors. He is past Treasurer of The Association of Black Psychologists and ex-President of its Delaware Valley chapter. He is married, the father of 5 adults, and grandfather to 9 young children. Tom is an avid, lifelong learner: He travels globally, has coached pre-adolescent basketball, speaks Spanish and Swahili, plays tenor saxophone, and mentors rising business and social science professionals. 

Tomas Leal, Senior Consultant

Tomás Leal is an experienced change strategist and a diversity, equity and inclusion practitioner and consultant. He has worked across organizations to develop and execute global strategies and training that support workforce initiatives resulting in inclusive, high performing and innovative work environments. His focus is on diverse global talent management, D&I coaching, learning and development, inclusion strategies, inclusive leadership, gender equity, cross cultural competency building. He has experience working across industries, and worked in North America, Latin America, Europe, Middle East, Africa, the Caspian region and Asia.

Most recently he is the Chief Diversity Officer at Fielding Graduate University. Before that he was Senior Director and Global Inclusion Strategy Lead for Research & Development at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). He led and consulted across the R&D business on the development and execution of global inclusion strategies that support senior leaders, managers, and individual contributors. Prior to this, he was the Director of Global Diversity and Inclusion at GSK.

For the past 23 years, Tomás has held diversity and inclusion roles based in the U.S. and the U.K. with Fielding Graduate University, Amoco, Royal Dutch Shell, British Petroleum, ITT Corporation, Microsoft, and GlaxoSmithKline. Working across global business regions, Tomás has created D&I strategies, metrics and action plans that are locally relevant and aligned with globally driven business strategies. In addition, he has developed and delivered learning and development training programs, specifically in unconscious bias, inclusive leadership, race and racism, sexual orientation, trans, and gender differences. Tomás has been a global presenter, speaker and facilitator at conferences in London UK, Copenhagen Denmark, Dubai UAE, Santiago Chile, and Geneva Switzerland to name a few. Early in his career, he worked 19 years in university administration mainly in Student Life/University Affairs roles at several U.S. universities.

Tomás has degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and Indiana University-Bloomington. He also completed the Diversity Management Certification from National Training Laboratories (NTL) and NTL’s master class, Inclusion & Diversity: Moving to the Next Level of Impact. He co-designed and co-facilitated a      2-day Gender Parity workshop for UN Women’s gender focal points in Geneva. He is active in several community and professional organizations, including past member of the Board of the National Hispanic Corporate Council (NHCC); he served as executive coach and advisor to the U.S. Latino Leadership Initiative at the SMU Cox School of Business; served as a Public Trustee for Fielding Graduate University. Presently he is a Trustee for the Pennsylvania Women’s Law Project and a member of the Board of Directors for the American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education.  

Tomás is fluent in Spanish and English. He lives in Philadelphia, and enjoys travel, reading, and spending time with José, his life partner of 35 years.
